Dheeraj Kumar is a mission-driven engineering director with over 15 years of experience managing and growing technology organizations. He is currently the Director of Engineering at Paytm, where he is responsible for overseeing all stages of product development, from project management to implementation. With a strong background in cloud-native application development in both public and private cloud environments, Dheeraj is well-versed in a variety of tech stacks, including SQL, AWS, Java, NoSQL, Cassandra, Kafka, and Python. He has also worked extensively with integration, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Spring, Microservices, and ETL. Throughout his career, Dheeraj has demonstrated exceptional leadership and communication skills, driving corrective actions through continuous communication and building fault-tolerant, resilient, and self-healing applications that can process millions of messages per day. He has also set up observability tools that can be fully interrogated, ensuring that his teams have the insights they need to optimize performance and maintain high levels of productivity. Prior to his current role at Paytm, Dheeraj served as a Senior Engineering Manager at the company and as a VP at JP Morgan, where he led a team in the design and development of software testing frameworks that were distributed firm-wide. He also worked extensively with NoSQL Cassandra databases to handle large amounts of data and set up observability tools that could be fully interrogated. Dheeraj holds a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. He is a highly motivated and results-driven professional who is passionate about leveraging technology to drive business growth and innovation.
