Dhruba Roy is an experienced Software Development Engineer currently working at Amazon as an SDE 2. With a passion for programming, he has been obsessed with coding for the last five years. Dhruba started his programming journey during his B-tech in Electronics at IIT Kharagpur and later joined United Health Group as an Associate Software Developer, where he worked for almost one and a half years on a Java project to create an application for US healthcare. Dhruba's programming skills include Java, C++, C, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, MongoDB, SQL, Apache Kafka, Ignite, Angular JavaScript, Struts, and EJB. He has also worked with Ruby on Rails during his time at Oyo Rooms in Gurgaon. Currently, he is working with Times Internet for almost one and a half years in a Loyalty program called Times Points for the whole Times Internet Group. As a Java Developer at Times Internet, Dhruba designed and developed an activity logging system to reward consumers of different Times properties based on a multidimensional ruling system. He also developed an activity logging queue system using Apache Kafka and set up a distributed in-memory platform using Apache Ignite. Additionally, he developed a DB update system using Java Reflection and Custom annotation to help developers with quick dev db access during testing in dev environments. During his time at Oyo, Dhruba worked on integrating different payment wallets with the current application to facilitate easy payment for expenses through different sources. He also developed an automatic email sender to trigger emails containing all the expenses and payment details along with an attachment on checkout from the hotel. Dhruba holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He also completed his XII from Raiganj Coronation High School.
