Dhruv Patel is a highly motivated and skilled CS Graduate from the University of Southern California. He is currently working as a PrestoSQL Contributor at Presto Software Foundation, where he is contributing to the development of PrestoSQL - a distributed SQL query engine for big data. With 3.28 years of relevant experience, Dhruv has worked with several reputed companies in the past, including Verizon and Information Sciences Institute. During his tenure as a Graduate Research Assistant at Information Sciences Institute, Dhruv worked on Knowledge Graphs and co-authored caps-cli - a package that defines and implements an approach for easily uploading models. He also built a Model Catalog Explorer to analyze large datasets used for forecasting environmental challenges using Polymer with Apollo Client and D3.js. Additionally, he contributed to the development of SPARQL Query Manager, which is used to execute SPARQL Queries on GRLC and published the package on PyPI under the name "oba-sparql". As a Software Engineer Intern at Verizon, Dhruv was responsible for developing a feature on BlueJeans Web Client to assign Action Items, Decisions, and Reviews to specific members present during a meeting. He also worked closely with the Platform team to build a Consolidated Log (CL) aggregation system on top of AWS using Lambda, Kinesis Firehose, Elasticsearch, Grafana, and S3. Furthermore, he engineered a solution to reduce the size of the ES Cluster by 50% to provide massive economics on ES by requesting logs on-demand. Dhruv holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from Dharmsinh Desai University. He has a strong technical background in SQL, AWS, Big Data, Software Engineering, Java, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Spring Boot, Spring, Web, Research Science, and Javascript. With his extensive experience and expertise in the field, Dhruv is an asset to any organization he works with.
