At Swiggy, Dhruv has worked as a Software Development Intern, where he was responsible for implementing the backend redesign of Swiggy Instamart’s rating service. He removed the dependency of the service on the order history database by adding a Kafka consumer to process events and cache the relevant data to prevent unnecessary database calls. He also optimized cache memory usage by redesigning the Redis keys to enable key expiry without affecting the functionality of the service. Dhruv enabled the Launch API and Rating API to read the new Redis keys, prompt the user for rating, and store rating details in the database. Prior to Swiggy, Dhruv worked as a Student Trainee at Samsung, where he implemented a new feature for enhancing data privacy in the Samsung Internet web browser. He extensively used the node automation tool - Puppeteer - to create a bot to crawl websites and simulate real user behaviour by continuously scrolling and performing clicks on all the URLs. He collected Request, Response and Cookie data from the crawls for analysis to detect and prevent web tracking via cookies set using the cookie ID present in the URL (URL decoration). Dhruv's technical skills and experience make him a valuable asset to any software engineering team.
