Dhwani Chugh is a driven and accomplished Product Intern at AWS, currently pursuing an MBA'21 from the prestigious Chicago Booth School of Business. With over 6.7 years of relevant experience, she has a strong background in product management, AWS, AI, and software engineering. Dhwani's passion for education and empowering the underprivileged is evident from her past experiences. As the Co-Founder of Jaadu Ki Nagri, she raised $18,000 through crowdfunding and CSR initiatives to subsidize the fee to $2 per student per month. She equipped the center with basic facilities such as computers, tablets, broadband, and a library, and developed a gamified basics-to-coding curriculum for 5 free-of-cost digital labs reaching 500+ dropouts. Her efforts generated 60 job opportunities in software development, content writing, and data tagging for local AI startups. Dhwani also surveyed 200+ students and educationists to understand curriculum needs, negotiated with and evaluated 15+ organizations to offer 32 experiential courses, and recruited, trained, and mentored five community leaders to handle day-to-day operations and 50+ volunteers as teachers. As a Fellow at Teach for India, Dhwani taught Mathematics and Political Science to 101 girls in a government school with ~$7 monthly fees. She accelerated mathematics learning for 95 middle school girls and achieved 3.2 years of academic growth in 2 years. Dhwani digitized the classroom by designing lessons using Google Classroom, ClassFlow, etc., to gauge real-time progress of students. She restructured pedagogy technique for 40 tenth-grade teachers from rote teaching to inquiry and case-based learning in digitized classrooms leading to a 14% average grade improvement year-over-year. Dhwani also led a team of 40 in Udbhaavan, a Science Carnival with 400+ students, educationists, and academicians, with Keynote Speaker: Dr. Parvin Sinclair, Ex-Director, NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training).
