Diana Maria Pojar is a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer with over 9 years of relevant experience in the tech industry. Currently working at Slack, she has a proven track record of success in designing and developing scalable big data solutions using Cassandra, Hadoop, Hive, and Java. She is also experienced in DevOps and has set up Cassandra deployment using Chef and metrics systems using Graphite. Prior to joining Slack, Diana worked as a Software Engineer at Twitter, where she was part of the growth engineering team, working on developing the next generation zero-rated system focused on helping mobile operators, engineering, and business development to create and monitor zero-rated campaigns. During her tenure, she contributed to the development of a new web application/portal to enable a self-serve flow for creating and launching zero-rated campaigns. She also integrated custom messaging (banners, interstitials) from the portal throughout Twitter clients and worked on batch and real-time analytics pipelines using Scalding and TSAR to properly report different metrics (ex: number of users, engagement) that were exposed in the portal. Before joining Twitter, Diana worked as a Software Engineer at Atigeo, where she worked on creating the next big data platform that offers out-of-the-box APIs for big data datasets. She designed and developed scalable big data solutions using Cassandra, Hadoop, Hive, and Java and was responsible for DevOps, setting up Cassandra deployment using Chef and metrics systems using Graphite. Diana holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Distributed Systems from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University Iasi and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the same university. She also holds a Bacalaureat in Computer Science and Math from National College Iasi.
