Dimitar Mirchev is a senior MTS at VMware with over 20 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering. He is an avid C++ enthusiast, occasional blogger, and mentor wanabe, currently organizing the C++ User Group Sofia. Dimitar is passionate about teaching and growing people, optimized code, high-performance computing, and game development. He is also glad to mentor juniors and interested in sharing his knowledge with others to help them succeed. In his current role at VMware, Dimitar is working in the SRM and the vSphere Replication team, where he is responsible for compiler upgrades and Jenkins testing infrastructure for dev unit and regression tests. Prior to this, Dimitar worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at IG Soft, where he was part of the server development team responsible for optimizations, server-client communication, new features, and microservices development. He also oversaw the development of an internal Python automation testing framework and was responsible for Python training of the QA camp. Before that, he worked as a Senior Software Engineer at IG Soft, where he was part of the server development team responsible for modernization of the code base and switching to MSVC 2015.3 compiler. Dimitar holds a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. He also attended Obraztsova Matematicheska Gimnazia "Akad. K. Popov" for his high school education, where he studied Mathematics and Computer Science. Dimitar's tech stack includes Python, Jenkins, Microservices, and Software Engineering, among others. He is also the founder of MentoringBulgaria@GitHub, where he provides more information about his mentoring activities and shares his knowledge with others.
