Dinesh Chahlia is an accomplished engineering leader and startup advisor with over 21 years of experience in the tech industry. He has a passion for using technology to make the world a better place and has built and scaled teams in various areas such as distributed machine learning, distributed storage, Internet scale near real-time systems, relevance, and recommendation systems. Currently, Dinesh is the VP and Head of Architecture at Wipro, where he is helping to bootstrap Wipro Labs. In the past, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the tech industry, including Google and Netflix. At Google, he was a Trusted Advisor for Google for Startups, where he mentored various startups as part of the Google's SDG Advisor program. He also co-created and facilitated “Actionable Ideas for DEI” workshops at 10 different startup and internal forums. At Netflix, Dinesh led the design and implementation of multiple features on the Netflix Top 10 Recommendations team. He worked on recommendation improvements using instant ratings, celebrity ratings, predicted moods, algorithms for an interactive gaming platform, recommending pilot TV shows, episode-specific recommendations, separating TV, movie, and kids top N recommendations, and post-play recommendations. Dinesh is also a seasoned startup advisor and has advised over 100 startups on vision, product-market fit, technology, inclusive culture, and leadership. He is always on the lookout for great founding engineers or product managers and is willing to connect them with exciting startups. With a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Dinesh has a strong tech background. He is skilled in senior software engineering, recommendation systems, product management, machine learning, artificial intelligence, SQL, and Azure.
