Dinesh Ravi is a Senior Open Source License Compliance Engineer at Elektrobit (EB) with over 8 years of experience in the field. He is also the author of the python module 'easy-fossy'. In his current role, Dinesh is responsible for automating almost all the tasks in the workflow, including GIT API, Jira API, Jenkins CI/CD integration, server deploy of OSS tools using Ansible, source search, provenance collection, comparison, scanning, classifying preexisting OSS data, and more. He has automated 60% of the open-source check workflow by creating synergy between three tools using Blackduck, sw360, and fossology API. Dinesh has extensive knowledge of license effects on using Linux OS, hypervisor, containerization, and virtual machines. He has honed his skills in license compliance for EB Automotive projects and products of various programming languages, YOCTO, Jenkins API, GIT API, CodeInsight tool, XRAY tool, Binary Analysis tool, and more. Prior to his current position, Dinesh worked at Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solution Pvt Ltd as a Senior Open Source Software Analyst. He managed and resolved open-source related issues from projects and products of Bosch. He also analyzed more than 100 projects using Blackduck and Fossology and identified open-source software in products (C, C++, Java, C#, Node.js) using BLACKDUCK Protex. Dinesh holds a Master of Technology in Computer Science Engineering from B.S. Abdur Rahman Institute of Science & Technology Chennai and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Anna University Chennai. He also has experience in Android, Jenkins, CI/CD, Python, Java, search, Ansible, test, integration, and backend.
