Divakar Dhavak Kumar is a Software Development Engineer at Workday with a passion for building software products that solve customer problems. With almost a decade of experience in the field, Divakar has a wealth of knowledge in microservices, Java, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes. Prior to joining Workday, Divakar worked at Teradata as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer - 2. During his time there, he worked on the streaming solution for Vantage 2.0, Teradata's flagship analytics platform. He was also responsible for enabling Teradata on GCP, including all the associated services and configurations needed to get Teradata on GCP. Divakar worked on the Listener team as part of the IoT Analytics platform, where he helped build high streaming data ingestion products that ingested real-time data at a high scale into Teradata. He also migrated Listener microservices from Mesos to Kubernetes and built prototypes and microservices using Java and Spring Boot, utilizing Kafka Connector for JDBC to bring data from MySQL to Teradata. Additionally, Divakar worked on various Listener microservices for building features like autoshredding and dead letter queue support and optimized Listener integration with Query Grid to improve the write speed of data from Kafka to Teradata. Divakar holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Amrita School of Engineering.
