DJ Sharkey is a Head of Engineering for AWS Clean Rooms at Amazon, with over 11 years of relevant experience in software management and lead software engineering. He specializes in delivering functional, tested software quickly, which can easily adapt to evolving business needs. DJ is a firm believer that a quick delivery-feedback-delivery cycle is the key to building a successful product. Most of his architectures and management practices are motivated by that belief. As the Head of Engineering for AWS Clean Rooms, DJ is responsible for growing a team from 0 to 25 and building/launching a service from the ground up. He has previously worked as a Software Development Manager and Senior Software Engineer at AWS Data Exchange, both roles requiring him to develop and manage software systems for the company. DJ holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Duke University, where he studied Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering. His technical expertise includes AWS, Java, Software Engineer, Web, Microservices, SQL, Integration, Spark, Typescript, MongoDB, Elastic Search, DevOps, and Backend. With his extensive experience in software management and engineering, DJ has honed his skills in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of his clients. He has a proven track record of successfully building and launching software systems from scratch, and his expertise in AWS and other relevant technologies make him a valuable asset to any organization.
