Dmitrij Petters is a Principal Engineering Manager at Microsoft Semantic Machines, where he leads a team of engineers and applied scientists in building a platform for powering assistive experiences across MS offerings. With almost 9 years of relevant experience, Dmitrij has a diverse background in software engineering, research, and Android development. Dmitrij started his career as a Graduate Researcher at MIT CSAIL, where he worked on DroidSafe, an automated program analysis system for detecting malware in deployed Android applications. He then moved on to become a Software Engineer at Athena Capital Research, where he developed, marketed, and sold Umeqo, a start-up whose goal was to provide recruiters with a more efficient way of finding student candidates. Umeqo was eventually acquired by Readyforce in 2013. Dmitrij holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Throughout his education, he gained expertise in a variety of tech stacks, including Senior Software Engineering, Research Science, and Android. At Microsoft, Dmitrij brings his extensive experience and knowledge to the table, leading his team in building a platform that will help power assistive experiences across Microsoft's offerings.
