Dmitry Trifonov is an accomplished software engineer with over 12 years of experience in computational science, machine learning, hardware, and geometry. He is currently an Engineering Manager at Apple, where he leads a team of software engineers and machine learning experts to develop an in-house deep learning framework with a focus on network optimization for mobile platforms. This framework powers many of Apple's products and features, including Animoji, Portrait Mode, and ARKit. Prior to his role at Apple, Dmitry worked as a Tech Lead and Manager at Hewlett Packard, where he led a team of software engineers and computer vision experts to develop a mobile 3D foot scanning solution for providing shoe recommendations and manufacturing custom shoes and insoles. He is passionate about improving the health and comfort of human lives through technology. Dmitry also worked as a Software Engineer and Firmware Developer at Brain Corporation, where he developed algorithms for robotics navigation and vision using Python, C++, OpenCL, and CUDA. He led a team of five software engineers during a spin-off mobile-manipulator project, where they built a mobile manipulator platform with several cameras and implemented a vision system to detect objects on the floor. They also designed PCB boards with Eagle software and wrote firmware for STM32 microcontrollers. Dmitry holds a Master's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). He is skilled in ML, Senior Software Engineering, Computer Vision, Mobile, Software Engineering, Deep Learning, and Python. He enjoys leading multi-disciplinary efforts, building teams, and pushing the frontiers of technology.
