Dolan Das is a Senior Engineer in XR (Extended Reality) Software at Qualcomm with over 3 years of experience in Video Codec Development and Optimization. With a good level of understanding and experience in C/C++, Python, and Java, Dolan has worked on designing and optimizing various modules such as Motion Estimation, Loop Filter, and Film Grain Synthesis on Codecs (H264, HEVC, AV1, SVC). Dolan has extensive experience in x86 and ARM Intrinsic and Assembly optimization and has developed multiple automation scripts to do profiling and performance analysis. He has also developed sophisticated automation setups in Python. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Dolan worked at Ittiam Systems Pvt Ltd as a Senior Engineer and Engineer, where he worked on advanced video technologies such as H264 encoder, H265 encoder, AV1 Decoder, and SVC Decoder. He has written all the ARM and X86 Intrinsic optimized functions for the low-level filters in SVC Decoder, which gave Frame Rate gain of 2x speed. Dolan has also re-designed Loop-Filter, Film-grain, and various other modules in SVT-AV1 Decoder and fixed multiple bugs on the SVT-AV1 Decoder repository reported by customers. Dolan holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Silchar and completed his High School education from Darrang College. His tech stack includes Python, Java, C, and Android, and he has relevant experience of 5.20 years.
