Domenic Puzio is a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in bringing models from research to production for a variety of use cases. He has a keen interest in state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing (NLP), which he has successfully applied in financial, geopolitical, and cybersecurity applications. At Kensho Technologies, Domenic builds and productionizes NLP models using Torch and Tensorflow. His work includes named entity recognition, named entity disambiguation, and dynamic text classification. He also develops machine learning libraries and infrastructure to bring these models to users at large scale. Domenic's research at Kensho has resulted in two patents. Prior to Kensho, Domenic worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, where he modeled complex cybersecurity problems like malware detection using Tensorflow, Keras, Spark MLlib, and scikit-learn. He also built tooling and infrastructure to bring his models to production at massive scale in AWS using tools like Apache NiFi, Apache Storm, and Elasticsearch. Domenic has also worked as a Security and Development Intern at the Federal Reserve Board, where he led projects that were part of the annual security audit. He examined the strengths and weaknesses of the tools used in the audit and wrote new programs to improve the efficiency of the process in the future. These programs were developed using Python, VBScript, and Powershell. Domenic is an Apache contributor and has contributed code to Apache NiFi and Apache Metron. He is also passionate about open-source technology. In his personal life, he enjoys playing board games and hiking in the Shenandoah. Domenic holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Virginia.
