Don Herwig is a highly skilled computer scientist with over 12 years of experience in software engineering. He has a strong background in Android and .Net development, as well as experience working on enterprise Java and embedded systems with microcontrollers and microprocessors. Don is a quick learner and is always eager to expand his knowledge and skillset. Currently, Don works as an Android Developer at Healthy Roster Inc. where he is responsible for application architecture design, Android architecture components, local storage and syncing strategies, Retrofit, white labeling, build flavors, managing play store releases, Dagger, RxAndroid, Kotlin, and Java. He ensures that the application is designed and developed in a way that meets the needs of the business and its users. Prior to his current role, Don worked as a Software Developer at Acumen Solutions, where he focused on Android development and Salesforce platform development. He also worked as a Capstone Android Developer at EduTechnologic LLC, where he developed an interactive virtual chemistry lab Android application that allowed students to ask chemistry questions to a virtual chemistry professor assistant. He utilized IBM Watson Conversation and Discovery services and designed the REST API calls to these services using Android HTTP client library, Retrofit. He also integrated the Discovery and Conversation services together for a seamless user interface. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University. His technical skills include Android, research scientist, and software engineer.
