Donald King is a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with over 14 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently, he is working at Fandom as a Senior Software Engineer, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining software infrastructure. Before joining Fandom, Donald worked at Fitbit as a Senior Software Engineer, where he deepened his relationship with the Developer Productivity team. During his time at Fitbit, he was responsible for various infrastructure improvements relating to software development and also for the development of internal software for tracking Fitbit-wide software deployments to Fitbit's Apache Aurora cluster. He created automated scripts for generating new AWS and GCE machine images using Hashicorp Packer, upgraded the Jenkins executor node disk image, and piloted early adoption of Terraform on the Developer Productivity team for migration to GCE. Along with Dimitris Iliopoulos, he co-designed and co-developed Citadel, an internal REST API server with a MySQL backend that is written in Go. Citadel is used at Fitbit for tracking all Docker builds and Aurora deployments for nearly all microservices at Fitbit, providing data integration endpoints for related Fitbit tools and services. Donald holds a degree in Computer Science from Kansas State University, where he completed his education in 2000.
