Dr. Anand Lakshmanan is a highly accomplished academician, technologist, and entrepreneur with core technical and management experience in various areas such as distributed computing, algorithms, data networks, internet-of-things, embedded systems, enterprise-grade big-data applications, and enterprise mobility. He holds a doctorate in engineering and has global multisite experience in technology, business, consulting, management, and operations. As a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of IETE, Dr. Anand is a global strategic leader with core strengths in technical product engineering, software engineering, customer interactions, and delivery, including technical product strategy and execution multisite. He has travelled and worked extensively with customers and teams in the United States, EMEA, and APAC regions for engineering innovative product lines to market-specific goals and being a part of the customer success stories across geographies and adaptation to multisite cultures. Currently, Dr. Anand is the Chief Operating Officer at COE for Road Safety, Dept of Engg Design, Indian Institute of Technology - Madras. His primary focus is the application of data analytics, IOT, communication, and automotive technologies to improve road safety. He has also worked as a Consulting SME at L&T Edutech, where he was responsible for creating and delivering subject content in the area of industrial IOT, applied electronics, etc. Additionally, he has worked as a technologist and entrepreneur at Padmakaram Edu-Tech and Consulting, where he focused on the application of technology to enhance and aid education - both students and teachers and make learning more fun and at the same time meaningful. Dr. Anand holds a doctorate in philosophy, PhD, in Load Scheduling in Distributed Computing from IISC. He has also completed a post-graduate diploma in business administration from Symbiosis with a specialization in finance. Moreover, he holds a master's degree in engineering (M.Eng.) in electrical, electronics, and communications engineering from IISC. He has also completed a leadership excellence program from IIM and an Excel Crash Course from Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI). With 13.28 years of relevant experience, Dr. Anand is a highly skilled professional with expertise in various areas of technology and management. He is a sought-after speaker and has presented papers at various national and international conferences. His passion for technology and education has made him a well-respected figure in the industry.
