Dr. Parmita Chowdhury is a driven and accomplished professional with over 11 years of experience in the field of biology and biochemistry. She currently serves as the Director of Content Development at BYJU'S, where she is responsible for molding and helping the K12 Biology segment grow as a team and develop creative content, amazing videos, and interactive and engaging learning material. Her expertise has been instrumental in driving the team to build a wonderful product that has already built great content for Indian (CBSE, ICSE, and State Boards) and International curricula (with emphasis on NGSS-based learning). Dr. Chowdhury has an elaborate experience of teaching Bachelors and Master degree students in some top colleges in India, which has enhanced her teaching experience by understanding the psychology of students across various grades. Her strength lies in having a strong research experience and skill in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Gel Electrophoresis, ELISA, and Protein Purification. She has a Post Graduate diploma in Bioinformatics from NIELIT, which has broadened her knowledge in Life Sciences with a scope for working in the dry lab and understanding Biology at the molecular level and working on simulations for making Biological predictions in living bodies and designing Biological compounds. Dr. Chowdhury has actively been involved in designing, developing, and reviewing Biology scripts for offline/online teaching and app-based teaching. She has efficiently taught Biology to NEET aspirants through classroom teaching and teaching through video mode. Her experience in research has helped her become a better learner and incorporate the same strategy to build a stronger base by working on the shortcomings and impart quality education through quality and effective learning. In her current role as the Director of Content Development at BYJU'S, Dr. Chowdhury has designed the curriculum, pedagogy, and content for the Byju's Online Classroom Programme (BOCP). She has also served as the Associate Director and Assistant Director of Content Development at BYJU'S in the past. Dr. Chowdhury holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Cotton College Guwahati and completed her high school education from St. Mary's School. She is a research scientist and has expertise in various technologies.
