Dr. Shankhadeep Banerjee is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the Information Systems area at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He holds a PhD and MBA from the renowned Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (Durgapur). He also completed the International Management Programme from NEOMA Business School, France, as an exchange student. Dr. Banerjee's research interests center on contemporary human behaviors related to technology, such as virtual communities, platforms, online reviews, crowdfunding, etc., investigated using quantitative methodology. He has published several research papers in top-tier journals like Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, and Information & Management, and in proceedings of several prestigious international conferences/workshops like ICIS, ACIS, etc. Apart from his academic achievements, Dr. Banerjee also has extensive IS practitioner experience at top technology firms like Microsoft, Amazon, and eBay in several techno-managerial roles. He has also served as Assistant Professor in the area of Information Systems & Analytics at O.P. Jindal Global University, where he taught MBA courses, namely Emerging Technologies and Technopreneurship. Currently, Dr. Banerjee is the Chairperson of the Centre for Software and IT Management and a Committee Member of IT Facilitation & Administration at IIM Bangalore. He is also a Program Chair for Software Management Summit India 2021 and 2022. He teaches several courses, including Digital Product Management, Information Systems, Introduction to Computing, and Recent Development in Information Systems (Doctoral). Dr. Banerjee has received numerous awards and nominations, including the Best Publication Award 2020 by IIMC Alumni (Mumbai Chapter), DIGIT Doctoral Student Scholarship 2016, Dublin, Ireland, Best Theory Development Paper (Nominated), ICIS 2017, Seoul, South Korea, and Best Paper Award (2nd across all management disciplines), 5th Management Doctoral Colloquium 2019, VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur. Overall, Dr. Banerjee is an accomplished academician, researcher, and practitioner with a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of Information Systems.
