Dwarakesh Venkatasamy is a highly motivated and skilled computer science enthusiast with over 7 years of experience in data engineering and infrastructure. He is currently working as a Senior Data Engineer (Infrastructure) at Gojek, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining the data platform's infrastructure. Dwarakesh is passionate about distributed systems, microservices, and DevOps. He is a fan of keeping things simple and consistent and loves working on complex projects and with teams where he can make a difference. His relevant experience includes working with technologies such as Kafka, Ansible, Terraform, Microservices, DevOps, Apache Airflow, Redis, Kubernetes, Docker, Elastic Search, and Software Engineering. In his previous role as a Senior Data Engineer at Rapido, Dwarakesh was responsible for building a raw ingestion layer framework, managing TrinoDB AKA PrestoSql clusters, developing custom plugins, maintaining data platform's docker images, and managing stateful systems like Kafka, Elasticsearch, and Redis. He also migrated most of the data workloads to Kubernetes with helm charts and maintained the monitoring and logging stack of the data platform. Prior to his role at Rapido, Dwarakesh worked as a Software Engineer at N26, where he was involved in various vendor integration for KYC of users. He built features that improved the KYC experience for customers and implemented the Re-KYC feature for periodic KYC for users as per legal requirements. Dwarakesh holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science from SASTRA University and completed his Higher Secondary education from Vijaya Ratna Junior College. He is a skilled professional with a "get stuff done" attitude and is always eager to take on new challenges.
