Ekansh Mahendru is a driven and accomplished Member Technical at D.E. Shaw India, with a strong focus on computer science. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, with an expected graduation date of 2022. Ekansh has gained valuable experience through his diverse internships, including his current role as a Software Engineer Intern at Microsoft. Prior to this, he served as a Coordinator for the Robotics Club at IIT Ropar, where he honed his leadership skills and contributed to the development of innovative projects. He also worked as a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Technology, where he collaborated with Dr. Shashi S. Jha on extensive research on existing methods for object detection. Ekansh's contributions to this research included the development and publication of the LiDAR toolkit, a deep learning model for detecting objects from LiDAR point cloud data, and an algorithm for path planning and topology switching of three UAVs carrying a single payload. Ekansh's technical expertise includes software engineering, research science, and deep learning. He has a strong grasp of the latest technologies and is always eager to learn more.
