Elango Chockalingam is a Senior Manager of Software Engineering in the Data Protection Division at Dell EMC. With 19.54 years of relevant experience, he is responsible for managing a team of highly talented technologists in providing a platform for migration of on-premise data to the cloud. Elango has a deep understanding of the necessity of data protection in enterprise business, which involves replication, de-duplication, securing, and long-term archival for regulatory and compliance purposes. Prior to his current role, Elango managed technical operations at CompuApps India, where he handled backup, disaster recovery, and digital media recovery solutions for OEMs such as DuraMicro Inc, AcomData Inc, OnSpec Inc, Sunplus IT Inc, and Initio Inc. He specializes in FS internals such as NTFS, FAT32, FAT16, FAT12, and CDFS Ext2, Ext3, ReizerFS, and backup/recovery technology on Windows and Mac FS. Elango is proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, Visual C++ (MFC & SDK), and Visual Studio 2005 (VC++ 8.0). He has experience in device driver development in Windows environments, driver debugging using Numega SoftIce, and QT Designer, Kdevlop in Linux Operating system. Currently, at Dell, Elango has worked on products such as NMSQL, Networker module for Microsoft SQL, and NMM V2.3, V2.4, V2.4.1 for HyperV and SQL modules. He has also worked on kernel-level modules (NTFS hooking) for virtual desktop interface module while working as a Project Leader at Unidesk, Inc. Additionally, Elango has managed a 23-member team at CompuApps, Inc, where he provided technical management for various products such as Windows FS backup/recovery solution, Mac FS backup/recovery solution, and filesystem recovery solutions. Elango holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree from the University of Madras and a GNIIT degree from NIIT. He is also a Certified Scrum Master from goodagile, where he studied Agile and Software Development methodologies. Elango's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, SQL, Objective-C, and designer.
