Elise Azar, PhD is a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Consultant in Digital Transformation and Founder with a strong background in sales and strategy. She is an INSEAD alumna and has a multidisciplinary academic background in biochemistry, biophysics, and physics. Elise is known for her extreme optimism, commitment, and entrepreneurial mindset. Elise started her journey in the Biophysics field after she read about the new potentials in a NASA magazine in 2011. She applied to the only Biophysics master class in Paris, where only 12 students are taken, and was proudly accepted without even a prior meeting. She was captivated by the X-ray scattering and pursued her studies in a PhD in this field. Her persistence paid off, and she is now a multidisciplinary person with a PhD in physics. Elise's experience as a manager and owner of a small company with four employees at a young age made her very responsible and a people person. She became very flexible and can manage difficulties. She learned how to be courageous and take risks wisely and especially to believe in herself and her ideas. In 2015-2016, Elise worked on a doctoral mission during her PhD as a project manager at the SATT of Paris-Saclay university. She was in direct contact with the laboratories' directors with an objective of detecting innovative projects that would attract industrial collaborations. Her contribution to this work was enormous, and she learned so much about the academic and industrial world. Elise has worked for companies like idbs as a Senior Solutions Consultant and insead as a Research Consultant and Research Associate in Strategy & Sustainability. She has also co-founded and served as CEO of BioThrust, a deep-tech startup project that provides solutions to enable cost-effective production of microalgae at scale. Elise has a Business Foundation Certificate from INSEAD and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics/Biophysics from Université Paris-Saclay. She also has a Master's degree in Biophysics from Université Denis Diderot (Paris VII), a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Lebanese University - Faculty of Sciences II - Fanar, Lebanon, and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Lebanese University - Faculty of Sciences II - Fanar, Lebanon.
