Emily Luk is a highly experienced finance and strategy professional with over 9 years of relevant experience. She is currently the Cofounder and CEO of Plenty, a fintech company that aims to make the financial tools of the 1% accessible to everyone. Emily is passionate about empowering people to build wealth, and she is dedicated to achieving this goal through Plenty. Before founding Plenty, Emily led Finance, Strategy, and Biz Ops at Even, a mission-driven fintech company that seeks to empower people living paycheck to paycheck. During her tenure, Emily helped scale Even from 30 to over 100 team members. Prior to that, she was a founding team member of Stripe's GTM and Finance & Strategy teams, where she played a crucial role in the company's growth from 300 to 1600 team members. Emily created Stripe's startup sales playbook, launched its global pricing function, and worked closely with its product and engineering teams for planning and forecasting. Emily began her career in venture and completed her CPA and CFA designations on early mornings and weekends. She comes from two generations of non-tech entrepreneurs and ran her first "business" at the age of 5 to raise money for Unicef. Emily is a friendly 2nd gen Canadian who found her way to the Bay. In her spare time, Emily enjoys experimenting with baking, making to-do lists, and watching football. She has also taken a sabbatical to incubate a startup idea, work on two book projects, become certified in sailing and coastal navigation, road-trip across North America, and spend months immersed in museums across Europe with her partner. Emily's diverse experience in finance, strategy, and operations, combined with her passion for empowering people to build wealth, make her a valuable asset to any team.
