Eric Wan is a highly skilled software engineer and research scientist with over three years of relevant experience. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto while also working as a Software Engineer at the Bloorview Research Institute. Eric's past experience includes working as a Software Engineer at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and the University of Toronto, where he was involved in designing interactive online experiences related to self-management of spinal cord injured users. He was responsible for identifying and articulating program needs based on conversations with users, sketching interaction designs, and iterating on solutions in the face of data and other findings. Eric worked closely with an integrated Engineering, Design, Research, and Healthcare Stakeholder team and provided interaction models and specifications for a development team. He also helped define both a long and short-term vision of selected self-management resources. Eric has a strong educational background in computer engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and biomedical engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Engineering, Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Collaborative, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering, all from the University of Toronto. Eric is proficient in various tech stacks, including software engineering and research science. He is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about using his knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on society.
