Gaganpreet Arora is an experienced software engineer with a strong focus on backend development, scalability, security, and devops. He is currently the founder of No Cookie Analytics, where he is working on a hassle-free, privacy-friendly, and open-source analytics service. Gaganpreet has a solid background in Python and is proficient in Flask, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy. He is also experienced in using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS to deploy and manage applications. Previously, Gaganpreet worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Polarsteps, where he migrated the 7-year old Python 2 Flask Polarsteps web application to Python 3 with no downtime or major issues. He also built a customizable and extensible anti-spam solution to tackle spammers abusing user-generated fields. Additionally, he laid the foundation to incrementally migrate from a legacy Flask-Restless based API to a modern FastAPI setup. Gaganpreet's performance improvements helped scale the website better for increased traffic as travel picked up in 2021 after a hiatus. Before that, Gaganpreet worked as a Technical Lead at Tiqets, where he undertook large-scale changes to improve the conversion rate on landing pages by increasing search relevancy, bringing about significant SEO improvements, and implementing A/B tests. He was responsible for mentoring and managing a team of 5 developers and also bridging gaps between front-end and back-end developers. Gaganpreet also improved (decreased) backend response time by optimizing database schemas and queries.
