Ganesh Kathiresan is a Software Developer with a passion for designing and implementing solutions. He is currently an SDE II at AWS and a NumPy Maintainer. In his spare time, he contributes to open-source projects such as NumPy and OpenCV. Ganesh's current role is with the Citrix Web Application Firewall team, where he builds scalable microservices in the cloud, enhances the Citrix Ingress Controller for Kubernetes, solves time-critical customer issues, and builds pipelines that increase the productivity of his team. He has also developed a framework for the Citrix Ingress Controller to configure Netscaler in a Kubernetes deployment using Custom Resource Definitions provided in Nitro API format, which was selected for TechFair 2019. In his previous role as a Software Engineer 1 at Citrix, Ganesh built a framework in Citrix Ingress Controller to support WAF in a Kubernetes deployment, which greatly simplified the addition of new features and received positive feedback from customers. He also solved various time-critical customer issues in WAF's 20-year-old legacy codebase, fixed internal bugs and security issues, and developed a pipeline to automate the process of producing new weekly signatures for Citrix WAF. As a Software Engineer 2 at Citrix, Ganesh designed and developed a new microservice for Citrix ADM Cloud to help recommend configurations for WAF. He was part of a four-member team that started the project as a vulnerability scanner and developed the core modules. The recommendation engine he built detects technologies and vulnerabilities in the backend service and recommends WAF profiles and Citrix Signatures. Ganesh holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from PES University and completed his high school education at CMR National Public School. He has experience with AWS, OpenCV, Kubernetes, microservices, and web development. Ganesh has 4.36 years of relevant experience in software development.
