Prior to joining Google, Ganna worked as a Speech Scientist at ELSA Corp, where she was among the first employees of the startup that developed an English speaking practice application. She was responsible for researching and developing speech processing algorithms for accurate pronunciation/prosody assessment to pinpoint errors and provide tailored corrective feedback to language learners. Ganna also has experience as a Research Assistant at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where she was part of the Research Center for Language and Speech Technologies and Applications (TALP) during her PhD studies. Her major thesis work was devoted to the challenging task of acoustic event detection in the neonatal intensive care unit environment, which entailed collaboration with medical and engineering staff from the HSJD-Barcelona. During her PhD, she was also involved in supervision of student final projects and teaching. Ganna holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Signal Theory and Communications from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Science and Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Computer Science from Dnipropetrovs'kij Nacional'nij Universitet.
