Garet McKinley is a highly experienced Senior Frontend Engineer currently working at CoderPad. With over 13 years of relevant experience, he has become an expert in creating fluid user experiences through UX design and accessibility. Garet is passionate about everything related to the web platform and is endlessly interested in internal tooling and improving the developer experience. Prior to his current role, Garet worked as a Frontend Engineer at Netspend, where he was part of a small 3-person team responsible for all frontend infrastructure, build tooling, and deployments. His work impacted 10+ feature teams with the tools and frameworks they shipped. Some of his accomplishments at Netspend include migrating their legacy build system to a Bazel mono-repo, building and maintaining their React-based UI framework, and writing advanced docs and training materials to enable feature teams to ship better code. Garet has also worked as a Freelance Software Engineer, where he traveled around the US and did freelance and consulting work for clients. He mostly worked with React, Gatsby, and Node.js and spent his free time maintaining his open-source projects, contributing to other projects, or experimenting with new frameworks. Garet is a self-educated individual who has gained extensive knowledge in Frontend, design, Web, UI, infra, Software Engineering, NodeJS, and Javascript. He is an excellent team player who is always willing to share his expertise and help others.
