Garima Nishad is a highly skilled data scientist, ML researcher, and tech blogger with a strong track record of ML papers in reputed conferences. She has over three years of experience in developing and deploying deep learning and computer vision-based models, with expertise in the entire model development to deployment lifecycle. Garima is currently working as a Data Scientist at Extramarks, where she has developed and deployed a handwritten OCR & OMR detection model for an e-learning school platform. She has also optimized and trained an object detection model to detect equations in an image and convert them into its latex. Garima is currently working on creating a chemistry equation detection and its SMILES conversion module. Garima is an RA at IIIT-Hyderabad (Machine Learning Lab), where she is working on medical image automation in collaboration with the University of Leicester (UK).
