Garima Patel is a highly skilled Software Development Manager currently leading a team of engineers and scientists at Amazon, where she is responsible for building machine learning systems for Search Autocomplete. With over 9 years of relevant experience, Garima has a strong background in software engineering, search, and machine learning. Garima is a problem solver who is always striving to become a better engineer. She enjoys building great stuff and is passionate about exploring hidden potential within. Outside of work, Garima has a keen interest in dancing and cooking, and she finds delight in trying out new things. Prior to her current role, Garima worked as a Senior Software Engineer and SDE II at Amazon Search, where she trained BERT-based models for Amazon products from scratch. She also created a framework for generating embeddings and enabled unsupervised embedding generation using state-of-the-art techniques. Additionally, Garima created a centralized service for publishing and retrieving model features in real-time, and enabled ML scientists and engineers to publish ML model input and output features to be discovered and shared in the Amazon community. Garima holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from VIT University, Vellore. She also attended DAV Public School, FBD, where she completed her secondary education. Garima's technical skills include software engineering, search, machine learning, BERT, and deep learning. She is currently looking to hire SDE and Applied Scientists for Amazon Search and is excited to continue building innovative solutions for the company.
