Garrett Nay is a skilled UI/Front End Engineer with over 7 years of experience building web applications using JavaScript. He is currently working at LendingClub as a Software Engineer, where he is responsible for developing the Member Center product, which enables borrowers to check the status of their loans, find information about offers, and payment relief. Garrett has been using React professionally for close to 5 years and is familiar with other tools and frameworks as well. He is passionate about accessibility, privacy, and honesty in web development and strives to make the web a better place for everyone. Garrett has a strong background in software engineering and has worked for several companies in the past, including Kuali, Inc., and Workfront. At Kuali, Inc., he worked on the Curriculum Management product, where he developed several new features, including a new, easy-to-use reporting tool. He also played a major role in attaining WCAG 2.0 AA compliance for accessibility, which taught him to always care about accessibility. At Workfront, Garrett worked on a greenfield asset management library project, where he was responsible for making a reusable React component library. One of the components he developed was a file tree viewer, and he used RxJS to handle API calls in the application. Garrett has a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language, both from Brigham Young University. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in Frontend, Software Engineering, UI, Web, Javascript, and AngularJS.
