Garrin Wong is a seasoned technology executive with over 24 years of experience in software engineering and infrastructure. Currently serving as the VP of Engineering, Enterprise at Slack, Garrin leads the engineering division responsible for building capabilities for Slack’s large organizations. This includes architecture, security, compliance, administration, and analytics for Slack's Enterprise-focused product, Grid. Prior to joining Slack, Garrin held the position of Director of Engineering, Enterprise at the same company. In this role, he was responsible for leading the engineering division that built capabilities for Slack’s Enterprise product. Before joining Slack, Garrin served as the VP of Engineering at Splunk, the leading platform for real-time machine data analytics. In this role, he led Splunk’s engineering infrastructure team and tripled core infrastructure engineering, including engineering services, build & release, developer productivity, and product security. Garrin is known for his exceptional leadership skills and his ability to mentor and promote diversity in the workplace. He is a mentor for Women in Tech & LGBTQ and successfully promoted one of his direct reports to Vice President, the first woman to be promoted to the VP level in the history of the engineering organization. Garrin holds a BA degree from Stanford University and has a strong background in senior software engineering and infrastructure.
