Garry Kevin is a Distributed Systems Engineer with a passion for exploring the product, growth, and investing space. Currently working as a Senior Software Engineer in Platforms at Freshworks, Garry has designed and built more than 30 highly scalable software services with a keen product sense, focusing on customer impact and obsession. Garry has a deep understanding of the fundamentals of Distributed systems, Networks, Operating systems, and Security. He has built architectures adhering to high SLA in availability, performance, and fault tolerance. He is responsible for Site Reliability and managing cost efficiency in workloads deployed in AWS/Kubernetes. He has also set up monitoring and observability systems for enterprise readiness and established best practices in low-level design in-built systems (gradle), unit tests, clean code, and high-level design. He has interviewed over 50 candidates for the platforms team. Before his current role, Garry worked in a small and fast-paced team at Freshworks, solving collaboration across Freshworks products. He has worked in all areas of the product front-end (Ember), back-end (Golang, Spring-boot), infrastructure (AWS), and has built and architected highly scalable distributed and fault-tolerant systems. He has identified and resolved bottlenecks in performance, security, and infrastructure. He has encouraged Clean Code and SOLID principles to the codebase and developed Proof of Concept for unified product experience and iFrame injection in the product. He has enhanced product experience with notifications, Slack integration for Freshworks CRM, Freshdesk, and various features. Garry has also worked as an intern at Roomoy, where he built a progressive mobile app with Quasar and Django/Python, gaining experience in working in existing projects. Garry holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from Anna University and completed his Higher Secondary education in Science from Maharishi International Residential School. He has a tech stack that includes Software Engineering, AWS, SRE, Infra, Kubernetes, Spring, Integration, Frontend, Backend, Golang, Mobile, Python, and Django.
