Garry and his team of partners have deep expertise in product, engineering, marketing, and design, with a fully institutional LP base and over $770M in assets under management. Their portfolio includes successful companies such as Instacart, Coinbase, OpenDoor, Flexport, Cruise Automation, Plangrid, Rippling, Truepill, Standard Cognition, Ro, Patreon, and many more. Prior to Initialized Capital, Garry co-founded Posthaven, which provides easy, simple blogs for $5/mo forever. He also served as a Partner at Y Combinator, where he helped over 700 startups build tomorrow's world-changing companies. He wrote key software at Y Combinator, including the internal alumni social network and forum Bookface, and the Demo Day website with real-time video updates. Garry holds a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Stanford University, where he graduated in 2003. He has a diverse tech stack, including skills in design, QA, product design, and data science. As a lead investor, Garry provides hands-on help with product design, strategy, interaction design, visual design, and hiring.
