Gaurav Ganna is a software engineer at Freo, with a passion for using coding to impact people's lives positively. He believes that coding breaks socio-economic barriers, making resources more accessible to even the least fortunate. During his undergraduate studies, Gaurav worked on multiple projects across sectors and gained expertise in designing UIs, coding them in the front-end as well as the back-end, leading teams into competitions and hackathons, doing competitive coding, heading clubs, organizing events, and giving presentations. He has experience in website and app design, as well as complex data analysis and ML models. Gaurav has learned multiple languages, frameworks, libraries, and stacks, including Python, C++, JAVA, C#, Ruby on Rail, Django, MYSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Bash, Firebase, Panda, SpringBoot, Keras, Tensorflow, VHDL, MERN, and more. While he uses some of them in his day-to-day work, Gaurav can code back in others if given two weeks of time, and he has a passion for learning anything exciting thrown at him. Apart from contributing and participating in various competitions and projects, Gaurav has also taken the responsibility of heading a few of them, which he finds a great experience. He is currently working as a Backend Developer at Freo, where he works on the backbone of the business, ensuring that no penny goes untraced and no EMIs are missed. He also works on various features to enhance the core business and improve the customer journey experience. Gaurav has also worked with MoneyTap and collection agency CreditMate, handling the flow of data between them. Gaurav has worked with Inter IIT Tech Meet as a Contingent Leader of the IIT Goa tech team and participated in a 36-hour hackathon, where he presented a pre-trained ML model that identifies different areas of interest like water body, school, etc., given a satellite image in tiff format. He was also a finalist in the Smart India Hackathon 2019, where he created a reusable, pluggable software component that can read various on-digitized health forms, parse the data, and save it in a portable health record format. Gaurav holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa, where he graduated in 2020.
