Gaurav Garg is a dynamic and enthusiastic undergraduate student pursuing a major in Geophysics, a minor in Economics, and a micro-specialization in Entrepreneurship & Innovation from IIT Kharagpur. With a keen interest in startups, venture capital, strategy consulting, and theoretical physics, Gaurav is always excited to work on new ideas and solve complex problems. He is an avid reader and an enthusiastic learner, with a passion for making human connections that last. Gaurav has a knack for problem-solving and teamwork, which he has demonstrated through his work as a Founding Member of CDC Companion, where he presided over the end-to-end organization of institute technology events to foster technical extracurricular activities among 13,000+ students of IIT Kharagpur. He managed all aspects, from funds to logistics, along with three fellow Secretaries, to successfully organize seven Intra IIT events in a duration of three months with 1000+ participants from 21 Halls of residence. He also coordinated with institute staff for handling the overall technology budget allocated for club activities, technology events, and competitions under the supervision of General Secretaries. Gaurav is currently serving as the Student Placement Coordinator at the Career Development Centre, IIT Kharagpur. He is also a candidate for Vice President, Technology Students' Gymkhana (2022-23), representing 2700+ students out of the 7315 voting individuals from 14000+ people of the Institute's General Body. He drafted and presented his Statement of Purpose in front of over 2000 people, including impact-driven proposals addressing and solving issues involving every aspect of all the spheres of campus life, majorly including Students' Welfare, Research culture, Entrepreneurial activities, etc. Apart from his academic and professional pursuits, Gaurav enjoys reading, sports, and part-time standup comedy. He is a research scientist with relevant experience of 0.69 years and possesses a strong tech stack. Gaurav is always looking forward to connecting with like-minded individuals and building something interesting.
