Gaurav Goyal is a highly skilled Engineer at Apple with over 16 years of experience in various Cellular standards, including New radio, LTE-A, NB-IoT, GSM, and WiMAX systems. He has extensive expertise in Digital Signal Processing and PHY implementation, as well as a good understanding of the latest modems architecture, including Baseband, Transceivers, and Front End. Gaurav is entrepreneurial in nature and has created Proof of Concepts that have eventually led to new products. He has extensive experience in creating measurements for modulation accuracy and spectral measurements, and is a pioneer in debugging RF issues in wireless systems, across standards. Gaurav is well-versed with 3GPP Specs for Physical Layer and RF Conformance Testing, and has familiarity with certain sections of Procedures. Gaurav has hands-on experience with Filter Design, Impairments estimation/correction, Timing estimation and Correction, CFO, Gain Imbalance, and Quadrature Skew. He also has good knowledge of RF T&M products such as R&S, Keysight, and National Instruments. Additionally, he has experience in implementing OFDM PHY in Xilinx and Altera FPGA’s. Prior to joining Apple, Gaurav worked as a Software Architect for RF Verification of 5G modem at Intel Corporation. He was also an Advanced Senior Engineer at National Instruments, where he led the development of LTE, LTA-Advanced, NB-IoT CDMA2k/EVDO, and GSM Measurements. He developed Downlink Signal generators for EVDO, LTE FDD/TDD, and TD-SCDMA, which later evolved into a new product called WTS by National Instruments. He also has good exposure working with OEM's for front end and Mobile device testing. Gaurav holds a PG Diploma in VLSI Design (FPGA) from CDAC, Pune, and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from IILM Academy of Higher Learning, Greater Noida. He also attended Cambridge School Noida. Gaurav's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Testing, Senior Software Engineering, Frontend, and Mobile.
