Gaurav is an experienced Mobile Applications Developer with a passion for building cutting-edge consumer-facing apps. He has proven leadership ability and holds a Computer Engineering degree from Nanyang Technological University. Currently, Gaurav is the Engineering Manager - Mobile at Rippling, where he has set up fully automated CI pipelines for testing every PR on both Android and iOS and CD pipelines to support Native and CodePush (OTA) releases for Rippling Mobile and Kiosk applications. He has recruited, hired, organized, and led a team of 6 Senior Software Engineers to develop and manage the Design System, Infrastructure, Support, Reliability, and Observability verticals of the Mobile Platform. Gaurav has created processes, checks, workflows, and training to bring down the production incident rate from a few times every week to one or less every quarter due to the mobile platform. He has also improved the crash-free rate of applications from 63% to above 99.99%. Prior to Rippling, Gaurav worked as a Tech Lead - Mobile (React-Native) at Clear, where he architected and developed Invoice, Estimate, Business Cards, and Profile modules end-to-end (UI + API integration). He also developed the Login/Onboarding module and UI layer for the overall app at ClearOne web (React) and developed the UI layer to re-skin the application with new designs, refactored the code to make reusable components at Clear mobile (React Native). Gaurav is also the founder of Buddy Apps, a self-funded startup aimed at developing Android apps for users all around the world. Some of the apps developed by Buddy Apps include Mingle, a dating app with over 500K downloads, FoodNextDoor, a food sharing app to connect buyers and sellers, JobApp, an app to hire employees or find jobs in your city, and FaceCam, an app to convert your Android phone into a smart face-activated CCTV system. Gaurav's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and a Standard 12 Examination (ICSE) in Mathematics and Computer Science from City Montessori School.
