Gaurav Gupta is a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager at Zomato, leading the engineering and product effort to improve the experience for the company's restaurant partners. With over 13 years of relevant experience, Gaurav is a workaholic who loves automation and organization. He possesses strong attention to detail and enjoys coding, designing, and building products. At Zomato, Gaurav manages the complete platform tech and product for restaurant partners, leading a team of 20+ engineers who are experts in Android, React, Go, and PHP. He has built a NPS and feedback sharing framework and manages integrations with call providers across the globe with auto-switching. Additionally, Gaurav manages high throughput event delivery mechanisms via FCM push notifications and Socket.IO. He is currently working with and learning Presto, DynamoDB, Kafka, and Go. Gaurav has also built the bookmarks feature from the ground up for the Zomato consumer app. Prior to Zomato, Gaurav served as Technology Lead at Limetray, where he led a team of 20+ engineers to deliver the finest SaaS products in the food tech space. He learned cloud computing concepts, the AWS stack (ECS, DynamoDB, Aurora, RDS, SQS, SNS, etc.), PHP Laravel, PostgreSQL, and built a language-agnostic workflow orchestration engine for business automation. Gaurav also standardized integrations with food aggregators like Zomato, Swiggy, Uber, and delivery companies like ShadowFax, Delhivery, and Grab. Before Limetray, Gaurav worked as Technology Lead at Oorja Mobile Services, where he developed an omni-channel customer engagement and marketing automation platform. He built a no-code workflow builder empowering clients to design and manage their customer journeys. Gaurav learned how to use Redis, Memcached, and built a high throughput scheduling service powered by Redis. He also learned lead acquisition, conversions, and customer engagement lifecycle concepts in depth. Gaurav kept the product architecture agnostic of business domain and built the platform to handle 2000+ requests per second using distributed microservices. Gaurav holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Delhi College of Engineering and completed his high school education in Computer Science from Bal Bharati Public School, Delhi.
