Gaurav Jain is a seasoned investor and managing partner at Afore Capital, one of the largest venture funds dedicated to super early-stage investments. With a focus on startups, Gaurav co-founded Afore Capital to help companies get to the next stage where traditional VCs can get involved. His passion for investing has led him to make 26 seed-stage investments, including Cruise Automation, Firebase, and Dia&Co. Before becoming an investor, Gaurav was one of the first product managers for Android, where he led the Nexus product line. He joined the platform when it had less than 1M total users, and today it has over 2.5B. His contributions to Android were recognized with the Founders Award, the highest employee achievement award at Google. Gaurav has also co-founded Polar, a leading native ads platform, and has invested in various companies, including neo financial and stackwatch, creators of kubecost. He led the pre-seed round for osana salud, where he currently serves as an investor. Gaurav holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he studied venture capital and private equity. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where he also minored in Management Sciences.
