Gaurav Lahoti is a technology leader with a passion for building products and teams that make a substantial impact on the lives of the masses. With almost a decade of relevant experience, he has a proven track record of taking products, engineering, and innovation from 0 to 1 and then scaling it 10X. Currently, he is the Head of Engineering at Khatabook, where he is changing the lives of 10M+ MSMEs in India. At Khatabook, Gaurav is the SVP of Engineering, leading a 100-member team in Engineering and Data Sciences. He is responsible for building comprehensive accounting and financial services for MSMEs while handling IT and Compliance (ISO 27001, 27701) too. Prior to this, he was the VP of Engineering at Khatabook, where he scaled the company from inception to 10M+ MAU. He built the team across engineering, product, design, and data for a high-growth VC-backed startup. Before joining Khatabook, Gaurav co-founded an Ed-Tech company, Genius Learning Labs, where he was the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He created engaging educational content that contextualizes real-world objects and events to teach academic concepts to K-10 students. He architected and built the apps, tools, and servers, and set up pipelines for image optimizations and video delivery. He also learned across product, design, 12-factor apps, real-time systems, analytics, and team building. Gaurav has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and a B.Tech and M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He is a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in web technologies.
