Gaurav Nanda is a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer at Harness, where he is responsible for scaling core infrastructure to enable seamless CI/CD for everyone. With over 12 years of relevant experience, Gaurav is passionate about building scalable and maintainable software, and excels at bootstrapping projects and thriving under tight deadlines. Gaurav's areas of expertise include designing and scaling server backends, building large scale data processing pipelines, and mentoring engineers to build high quality products with an early emphasis on testing and monitoring. He is also highly skilled in software engineering, CI/CD, infra, UI, test, parts-of-speech, senior software engineering, research science, and web development. Prior to joining Harness, Gaurav worked at Google as a Technical Lead on the payments platform, where he was responsible for building server-driven UI development infrastructure. He also worked as a TL on the Google food ordering platform, where he built a scalable partner data ingestion platform and worked with business development and product managers to onboard various aggregators, SMBs, and POS systems onto Google. Gaurav also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), where he bootstrapped a digital rock web repository for fast storage and retrieval of images of a variety of porous micro-structure. This platform allows managing and preserving available images of porous materials and experiments performed on them, and any accompanying measurements (porosity, capillary pressure, permeability, electrical, NMR, and elastic properties, etc.). Gaurav holds a Master's Degree in Computer and Information Sciences, General from the University of Texas, and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Thapar University. He is passionate about design discussions and is always looking for ways to build scalable and maintainable software.
