Gaurav Pikale is a highly motivated and skilled Senior Software Engineer with over 7 years of relevant experience. He is currently working at Bloomberg LP as a Senior Software Engineer, where he is responsible for building a new Continuous Integration and Continuous Development pipeline for the entire company. Gaurav is also working on migrating the existing Jenkins instances to support remote job triggering via HTTP and building a micro-service based framework to react to incoming events from Kafka topics by triggering the appropriate jobs. He is adding integration testing using Docker and Docker Compose to orchestrate the framework and providing user support for all their CI offerings. Prior to joining Bloomberg LP, Gaurav worked as a Senior Software Engineer at the same company, where he was responsible for creating thread-safe and performant extension libraries using Cython and providing support for libraries and Python at Bloomberg. He built an automated framework to provide ABI-compatible Python wheels for infrastructure provided extension libraries and managed and helped with the company-wide Python 2 to 3 migration effort. Gaurav also worked as an Engineering Intern at Ontario Power Generation, where he built a desktop application for a data extraction system in the nuclear simulator and worked on a classroom version of a nuclear simulator to assist in training new nuclear operators. Gaurav holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and an International Baccalaureate from Dhirubhai Ambani International School. He has a strong technical background in Software Engineering, Python, CI/CD, testing, Docker, integration, Jenkins, SDET, infra, Kafka, microservices, and JavaScript. Gaurav is passionate about making software solutions that help get more value for time and live a richer life.
