Gaurav Rao is a Full Stack Software Engineer with over 8 years of experience in the industry. He is currently working as a Technical Lead at eko, where he is involved in the design and development of network and security platforms. Gaurav is also an APFFB 2019 candidate at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, where he is bootstrapping an advisory fintech solution that helps customers with their personal finance. Gaurav has a diverse range of experience in the software industry, having interacted with many ups and downs in the SDLC processes. He has gained technical expertise in a full-stack development role and has taken leadership roles as an individual and as a team. Gaurav is passionate about empowering gig entrepreneurs with finance tech tools and opportunities, and he has built a personal finance assistant that takes on the responsibility to design an orchestration of financial tools and planning for users. Prior to working at eko, Gaurav worked as a Technical Consultant at asparia, inc., where he built tech to enable healthcare admins to engage patients using SMS for non-clinical activities using an EHR-integrated communication platform. He also built a video chat application to enable providers to connect to their patients over a tele-visit appointment. Gaurav has also taken a sabbatical to explore the fintech space in India, where he focused on building a personal finance assistant. Gaurav has a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Raipur. He also attended Rishikesh Public School for his secondary education. Gaurav has extensive experience with a wide range of technologies, including AWS, Blockchain, Javascript, MySQL, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Azure, GCP, Django, Android, and Objective-c.
