Gaurav Sarma is a highly skilled and experienced software engineer with over 8 years of experience in the industry. He has worked with innovative and fast-moving companies, taking products from concept to architecture definition, design, development, and release. Gaurav started his career as an Application Developer, building high-quality web-based applications using Ruby on Rails and AngularJS. Gaurav has extensive experience in SD-WAN, having developed the WebUI of the SD-WAN controller from scratch for management and monitoring of edge gateway devices. He also helped develop the configuration and policy engine for the northbound SD-WAN controller, which manages thousands of edge gateway devices. Gaurav has also worked on building an analytics engine using filebeat, logstash, and elasticsearch with custom aggregation and buffering services to handle the load of large data sets of network data. Currently, Gaurav is working on Kubernetes-based platforms for better manageability and monitoring of applications on any platform. He is also working on a custom automation platform primarily curtailed for 5G-based applications. Gaurav has mastered several skills over the years, including Go, Ruby, Python, Javascript, Git, Mac, Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Flask(Python), Django(Python), Ruby on Rails, Gin(Go), jQuery, AngularJS 1.x, ReactJS, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes. Gaurav is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure) at Rippling, where he has developed a publisher-subscriber framework for services using Kafka and Kafka Connect. He has also deployed MSK clusters and connectors using Terraform and implemented mongo DLQ using Kafka. Gaurav deploys and manages multi-environment microservices using Kubernetes and Helm charts. He has automated decoupling of python module dependencies using Abstract syntax trees and added gRPC and protobuf support for inter-service communication. In the past, Gaurav has worked at VMware as a Technical Lead (Tanzu Mission Control), where he worked on building HTTP/gRPC-based Golang microservices and a generic scale tool for TMC services. He also developed an Event Analytics Platform, similar to Mixpanel, to understand and predict users' behavior, handling 14 million events per day. Gaurav has also worked at Robin.io as a Senior Software Engineer, where he worked on Robin's Kubernetes-based platform for seamless application delivery and management using Python and Golang. He also developed a
