Gaurav Singh is an accomplished Lead System Engineer at Intel Corporation, with over 12 years of relevant experience in the development of UEFI BIOS based display driver, Embedded Linux/ Android driver development, and Google ChromeOS. He has been recognized for his contributions to the open-source kernel community and has expertise in Linux subsystem frameworks like Direct Rendering Manager (DRM), Atomic Display Framework (ADF), and Graphics. Gaurav is also an expert in kernel, device drivers, display board bring up, and has sound knowledge of PCI device driver, I2C client driver, platform driver, and display technologies like MIPI DSI, HDMI. In his current role at Intel, Gaurav has developed and enabled VESA Display Stream Compression feature, a power-saving feature in i915 gfx driver for Intel Gen-based Platforms. He has also enabled Panel Self-refresh with Selective update (PSR2) for the first time on Intel-based chromebooks, which helped in ~1 Watt of power savings. He has been awarded Group Recognition Award (GRA) & Division Recognition Award (DRA) thrice in the organization. Prior to joining Intel, Gaurav worked as a Senior System Engineer at Nvidia, where he was responsible for board bring-up activities for Nvidia Tegra SOC family (TegraX1) and development of display subsystem drivers like HDMI, Display Port, Video mode detection, and setting etc on Nvidia Tegra SoC family (Erista, Parker platforms). He has also worked as a Graphics Software Engineer at Intel, where he contributed to the open-source kernel/DRM community and developed display driver for UEFI BIOS and Pre-boot environment tools for UEFI BIOS. Gaurav holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from Vellore Institute of Technology. He is proficient in Android and is a skilled software engineer. Gaurav has experience in working with geographically dislocated and different domain teams and has developed various debugging tools across kernel and system level.
