Gaurav Singh is a graduate student at the University of California San Diego with a keen interest in wireless and communication systems. With a solid background in electrical engineering, he has developed and simulated several wireless systems and technologies, both in professional and academic environments. Gaurav has a rich professional experience of 2.85 years, having worked for three years in the Modem Systems team in Samsung R&D Institute India, developing several software modules for 5G NR systems. He has also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UC San Diego School of Biological Sciences Alumni, where he assisted the professor in several aspects of the Biostatistics course. Currently, Gaurav is working as a 5G Cellular Engineer Intern at Samsung, where he is responsible for two main projects. First, he is developing an unsupervised time series clustering of NR crash dumps for automation of the crash analysis. Second, he is working on emulation and regressive tests of end-to-end DL throughput over the NR stack under varying channel conditions. Gaurav's interests lie in expanding his understanding of several concepts employed in the realm of the wireless industry, including Signal Processing, Information Theory and Source Coding, Wireless protocols, Wireless systems design, and others. He is also interested in exploring machine learning and its application in optimizing wireless networks. Gaurav has a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from IIT and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Communication Theory and Systems from UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering, which is expected to be completed by December 2023. He has a diverse tech stack that includes Mobile, Deep Learning, ML, Software Engineer, and test. Gaurav's experience and expertise make him a valuable asset to any team working in the wireless and communication systems industry.
