Gaurav Singh is a highly skilled software developer with over 7 years of experience in Go, Python, REST, Kubernetes, AWS, Virtualisation, Docker, ECS, and other relevant technologies. Currently working as a Summer Intern at Samsung Research India, Gaurav is involved in a project to use the camera built in a smartwatch to detect and recognize other nearby smart devices. He explored different techniques and decided to work on the Viola-Jones object detection framework known for its speed and accuracy. He further explored few other algorithms like the histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) and Scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT). Prior to this, Gaurav has worked with Nutanix as a Member of Technical Staff for over 3 years, where he worked for the Nutanix Cluster Check team and the Cloud Mobility Services R&D team. He developed and designed customer-facing Move's REST APIs and AWS agent, which is a key part of migration from AWS to AHV. He also worked on converting the application into a microservices-based application and on security aspects of application VMs. Gaurav also worked for the Database Mobility Services R&D team, where he designed and developed the migration of databases component and novel data rebalancing in DB files without any downtime. He has also worked for the Sizer Application team, where he created a service that collects data from SFDC and updated the MySQL database. He maintained the Dell Sizer application single-handedly and integrated it with Nutanix Sizer. Gaurav has also worked with NetApp as a Member of Technical Staff. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. He completed his High School education from Kendriya Vidyalaya.
